Greg started off his racing career in go-karts in 1996. Specific accomplishments during his nine years of kart racing include winning three championships and two second place finishes in overall points. During one stretch, Greg was able to peel off thirteen victories in a row. Another major accomplishment was winning the "Sportsman of the Year" award.
Greg moved into stock car racing mid-2005. His first race came at Dublin Motor Speedway in the Pure Stock division . Greg spent the season getting valuable experience. He was able to earn a second place finish along with tenth overall in points while entering only less than half of the season's races. Greg was determined to make improvements as he looked forward to 2006.
2006 would prove to be a pivotal year as Greg would attempt to race at two area tracks. Greg would continue to race his Pure Stock car at Dublin Motor Speedway while making the move to the Super Street division at Fayetteville Motor Speedway. Greg would finish sixth in overall points at Fayetteville after missing three races due to mechanical problems.
Greg started the 2007 season with a couple of wins: he won the car show at Dublin and followed that up by picking up his first feature win on the same track the following week on opening day. Within a few weeks he won again at Dublin and also saw his first victory at Fayetteville. While the team was off to a great start for 2007, running consistently in the top five at both tracks, eventually their luck took a turn for the worse. They lost an engine and encountered a number of misfortunes over the course of two months. Even with the trouble toward the end of the season, Greg would finish third in points at Fayetteville and second in points at Dublin.
As the 2008 season starts, Greg is looking forward to building on the success he's achieved during his first two years of racing. He'll start the season with a new power plant and help from his dad / car owner, Greg Bass Sr. along with Terry Pitman, Randy Caulder, and Robbie Williams. The team is in desperate need of sponsorship to help them build on their success. Greg would also like to thank Richard for his help and his girlfirend LaTasha for her support! Come to the speedways in Fayetteville and Dublin in 2008 and support Greg Bass racing!
